Suppose, if the control of breathing is given to your consciousness, there’s a high chance you’ll end messing it up whenever you feel a bit lazy or if you have had a fight with someone.

In a similar manner, if you provide yourself with the necessary atmosphere, meditation will blossom. And mind you, If it hurts you, you’re doing it wrong.

Have you ever asked yourself a question that why you can’t just be happy ? I know our life is in vain and stressful, about our love life and how we don’t want to die single.

Note a common trend, everyone is going through hardships and misery . But your mind makes it a suffering , just like any Indian daily soap , you perceive your problems in the best exaggerated way possible . But why?

It’s because you don’t have a firm hold on your mind . It’s because instead of living in NOW , you constantly grip yourself between the insecurities of past and anxiety of future.

Meditation is the answer to all your prayers and as i talk of it, I don’t advocate to force shut your eyes and chant a mantra you don’t even know the meaning of. That is one reason why people are afraid of meditation. But, do you know there is a wide variety of meditative fruits to reap benefits from?

I’ll list a few below and you’ve to comment which one you were aware of already. I assure, you won’t see meditation the way you have seen it as we progress.

What is mindfulness meditation? 

One of my favorite. Well, all of them are my favorite but this one works for the majority.

Mindfulness, as the word suggests has everything to do with the present moment . Observe the beauty of present, as you breathe focus on it , move your legs and just focus on it.

Let go of your past and future. The best thing about mindfulness meditation – You can practice it almost anywhere.

What is heartfulness meditation?

Heartfulness meditation is taught by hearfulness.org.

Heartfulness meditation has everything to do with heart instead of taming the brain . As stated by the organisation itself “ Heart is the centre pumping machine of one’s body . it acts as a purifier to not only filter out blood but also the emotions and energy “.

The main focus of this practice is to attain inner bliss through meditating on the heart.

What Is Kundalini meditation?

Kundalini meditation is related to kundalini yoga and its primary purpose is actualize the energy present at the base of spine. 

This energy at the base of your spine releases through 7 chakras.

This manifestation of energies create a system of communication between mind and body , making you self aware in a way that you might have never been.

What is Vipassana meditation?

Vipassana originates from Buddhism and its literal meaning is special(Vi) , seeing(Passana).

It is often attached to insight as well.

Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation.

What is Zen meditation?

Zen meditation traces its roots to Buddhism as well.

Zen meditation involves observation and letting go of the thoughts and feelings that arise in the mind.

Though zen goes much deeper as it helps you tackle the root issues that you have with yourself.

Purely focused on solving the root cause of your problems, this form of meditation enriches you with calmness and true understanding ; well being of a person does not lie in money or fame but with being at peace with himself.

So now that you’ve a brief information about different types of meditation , its your turn to go along with the one that resonates with you the most.

Gentle advice , Just don’t choose procrastination

Meditation might not work for you , here’s why :

I know for a fact that you are accustomed to a life full of stress , psychological issues and mindlessly taking actions that are steering your life towards no purpose.

Though, I am aware of the fact that you are willing to change your life for good and add some perspective to it. I love you for that.

But if you are kind of a person who is nihilist or you enjoy pandemonium, meditation would prove to be destructive for you , why ? Because , meditation will add a long-desired direction in your life, it will give your life meaning. 

However, if you don’t belong to the nihilist tier , meditation has answers to all your questions. Solution to all the catastrophe that surrounds your life.

Though , you will have to take actions and develop a routine that you can sustain , otherwise you would easily revert back to your old ways. 

Meditation and Sustenance

One of the most common problem I encounter with people is, they are not able to sustain their good habits.

When was the last time you actually completed a new year’s resolution ? Or you were regularly working out ? 

To live a life of meaning , you’ve to sooner or later realise that sacrifices are to be done.

And there’s no self in you . You are the world , the world resides in you.

Humans are tempted by destructive forces quite easily and it takes unimaginable amount of “pain” to get life back on track again .

The main question here is, how do you sustain this alluring practise of meditation and avoid falling into the spiral of misery and negativity?

No word of a lie, you will have to make your mind, After all, if you don’t treat yourself the right way. why the world will?

Only you can make your life better

Meditative practices will work for you, I am sure of it.

However, if you are diligent in putting in the efforts to seek peace and calm you would gradually come to this cognizance. Whatever problems you had, you have, with your life is predicated on your thought process.

Some people naturally tend to have high levels of happy chemicals that have them sail through adversities smoothly.

But for majority, this awareness reeks in with time, with the pursuit of seeking tranquillity.

With a clear conscience, you tend to gather experiences, but the biggest regret would be living life without meaning and living a life that you have no control over.

Hence , meditation is just one way to seek meaning.

“ Set your room in order before you criticise the whole world “  

This is a life-changing rule stated by Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and it has nothing to do with meditation on the surface.

However, when deeply analyzed you can clearly see him setting up a tone that compels you to put your life in perspective first before you blame the whole world.

You seek a life filled with contentment and the only way to actualise it through actions.

So, take action today, control your life. create a healthy environment in your body & mind and meditation will bloom within you.
